What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a gentle, holistic healing system that has been practised for more than 200 years and is used by over 200 million people worldwide to treat both acute and chronic conditions. It uses specially prepared, highly diluted and succussed (vigorously shaken) substances, derived mainly from plants and minerals, to trigger a patient's innate healing ability.
It is based on the principle of 'like cures like', which in practise means that a homeopathic remedy which is capable of producing certain symptoms when taken by a healthy person is capable of healing an illness that displays similar symptoms in an individual who is unwell.
For example, drinking too much coffee can cause sleeplessness, restlessness, headaches and agitation. So, according to this principle, when made into a homeopathic remedy, it may be used to alleviate suffering for someone experiencing these symptoms.
What to expect
When you come for a homeopathic consultation we will discuss the symptoms you are experiencing as well as other aspects of your lifestyle, such as food preferences, temperament, personality, sleep patterns and medical history, all of which help me to form a full picture of you.
The in-depth consultation helps me to find a particular type and strength of homeopathic remedy which is most appropriate for you.
All homeopathic remedies are safe to use and do not cause side-effects.
They can be taken by people of all ages, including babies, children, pregnant or breastfeeding women and can be used alongside conventional medicines.
Appointments are available in Caversham, Reading and Chiswick W4 or by Skype/phone. Home visits are also available at an extra charge - please enquire.
